NOTE: Any patch notes from the Test server are NOT FINAL and things may (read: probably will) change a bit before they go live so "take it with a grain of salt", as they say.
Follow-Up: There is a more in-depth interview over on the Ten Ton Hammer site in which they talk to SmokeJumper about the details of things to come in EQ2 through the next year or so.

SOE has announced that, later this month, they will be release two new types of mounts: Leapers and Gliders.
They will do exactly what their names would suggest, they jump and/or glide. As with the flying mounts; they will be available through quests and there will be both a tradeskill and non-tradeskill version of the mounts.
Leapers will be available starting at level 30 and gliders will be available starting at level 60. Flying mounts are still restricted to level 85+.
You can read the full details and see some pictures of the new mounts on the official announcement page.
